Customers travel from as far as China to shop with one of Dandenong Market’s hottest small business traders, Hart’s Honey.
Slovenian born Joza Hart and his wife Cati have been producing their mouth-watering honey from their property in Lilydale for many years.
In the beginning, Harts Honey had over 400 beehives when they first started in Melbourne. Now, the honey-loving family has 600 beehives in Victoria and New South Wales.
Joza’s portable hives are moved around his properties, allowing bees to collect nectar from various trees and flowers. This method is the reason we are able to enjoy Joza’s delicious varieties of honey including Yellow Box, Iron Bark and Stringybark.
Joza also stocks his favourite brands of honey, including Leatherwood from Tasmania and Manuka Honey from New Zealand.
Joza opened his dream stall at Dandenong Market in 2005, building a loyal customer base who can’t get enough of the sweet taste. Locals and tourists love taste testing his mouth-watering varieties, often selling large quantities of favourites like Manuka honey for tourists to take home. Locals also love his creamed honey and fresh honeycomb which are available in a convenient take-home pack.
Hart’s honey is not heat-treated and is made with passion and love. Joza is very knowledgable about the honey he stocks and is great at recommending the perfect variety for the occasion. Whether it be for a cold, a cheeseboard or a piece of warm toast, Joza has the honey for you.
Customers can find Joza and his honey in the Meat Fish and Deli Hall at stall N2. Hart’s Honey is open every Market day until 4pm.
