Dandenong Market will be lightweight plastic bag free as of Friday 1 November

Dandenong Market has joined the Victorian plastic bag ban. The ban offically comes into effect on 1 November 2019. Over the past few months, the Market has been working collaboratively with all traders to implement a plan and ensure a smooth transition towards a market free of lightweight plastic bags.

Many Market traders are already lightweight plastic bag-free. We continue to support this initiative by educating our traders and customers about the environmental impact of plastics.

We proudly offer Market shoppers alternatives to single-use plastic bags. This free boxes and free Boomerang bags from 1 November while stocks last. Additionally, two sizes of eco-friendly reusable bags are available from the Market Management office.
