The health and safety of our customers remain our top priority and we have taken all precautions to ensure you are well looked after on your next visit to the Market.
Dandenong Market remains open for our community as we are classified as an essential service by both the Victorian and Australian Governments.
Traders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and deli items, pantry goods and all bakeries remain open. Our ready-to-eat traders, restaurants and cafes will continue to sell take-away only.
All non-food stalls including all small businesses in the Bazaar, as well as our plant and flower sellers, key cutters, pet supplies seller, tools and garden suppliers and our popular auction are open.
The Market’s playground remains closed.
These directions will remain in place until instructed otherwise by the Victorian Government with our social channels and website keeping you updated.
To help everyone comply with the COVID-19 physical distancing laws:
To remind customers about physical distancing, we have 10 minute overhead announcements reminding customers to maintain 1.5-metre distance in our Fruit & Vegetable Hall and Market Square and for 4 square metres for all other areas of the Market. Similar messages can also be seen on all digital screens. We also have more than 50 posters around the Market asking customers to respect the practices in place.
Dandenong Market is classified as an indoor venue by law. Masks are required while shopping in all sections at Dandenong Market (unless you have a lawful excuse such as a medical condition that prevents you). Children under the age of 12 are not required to wear a mask. All Market staff, traders and their employees are required to wear a mask or face covering. We must continue to do all we can to minimise the risk of infection and protect our families, friends and other customers.
Chairs and tables have returned to Market Square and the Northern Food Court. Dandenong Market asks that customers dining in the food courts scan the provided QR code and fill in the required information.
Some traders prefer contactless payment (pay wave) over cash and other payment options.
Many of our traders use ticketing systems to allow customers to maintain a safe distance while ensuring they are served in order.
Please respect the personal space of others and practice good hygiene by washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds.
Or, use one of our many sanitising stations to clean your hands before and after handling produce and/or eating.
