Dandenong Market is excited to introduce its latest addition, Spirit of Pakistan, run by the passionate and experienced Ali Gain. Ali migrated to Australia 15 years ago and has been showcasing his love for authentic Pakistan cuisine and street food with the local community for the past decade.

Born in Pakistan, Ali comes from a family with a long history in the catering business and his recipes have been passed down through four generations. He is dedicated to bringing real and authentic Pakistan street food to the people and sources all his fresh produce locally from Dandenong Market to ensure the highest quality ingredients in his dishes.

At Spirit of Pakistan, Ali specialises in traditional Pakistan street food and creates all his homemade spices and chutneys from scratch. One of his personal favorites is the “Nihari Beef, a slow-cooked dish made by braising beef for 10 hours” to create a rich and flavourful meal that represents the essence of Pakistan cuisine.

But what Ali loves most about Spirit of Pakistan is seeing his customers come from all over Melbourne to try his authentic street food. He is always thrilled when they compliment his food and says “it makes his day.” One of the most popular dishes among customers is his fried bread and Halwa Puri, a delicious chickpea curry that is a staple in Pakistan cuisine.

When asked why he chose to make Dandenong Market his home, Ali said: “it’s the easy access to fresh produce and the diverse and lively atmosphere.” He invites everyone to come and try the delicious delicacies of Pakistan cuisine.
