Ismail and his business partner, Khalid, have been butchers for generations. Originally immigrating from Afghanistan, the duo has just opened this new highly anticipated shop at Dandenong Market, Ismail’s Halal Meats.

Sourcing all their products locally, they are passionate about providing good quality Halal meat to the community of Dandenong. Their favourite part of the Market is the multiculturalism and the relationships they build with their customers. Khalid says that his customers love the steak range available, alongside their favourite products – the lamb cutlets.

“The Market is a very vibrant, diverse and multicultural setting, it’s the people here that allow me to look forward to coming into work each Market Day. I wanted to provide a Halal butcher to serve the community with fresh quality, premium meats… you should try the lamb backstrap, it’s one of my favourite products we have in store!” Khalid says. He insists his beef burgers “are to die for” quickly followed by home-made beef and lamb sausages, another customer favourite. Burgers and sausages – the perfect for a family BBQ or quick mid-week dinner.
