Jam roll
Looking for the ultimate treat? Introducing the jam roll. This classic cooking favourite will light up your holidays with your kids.
Method
- In a mixing bowl whip the egg yolks and 100 grams caster sugar until they are pale and white. Fold through the flours and set them aside.
- In another mixing bowl with a whisk attachment whip up the egg whites first until they are medium peak then slowly add the caster sugar and whip for a further 5 minutes or until glossy.
- Fold the two together then grease a sheet of greaseproof paper then smear over a thin layer over then bake at 170C for around 6-7 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Once cooked roll into a tea towel dusted in caster sugar until cooled, then unroll and smear on a thin layer of jam and buttercream. Re-roll and, let sit and serve and eat within a couple of hours.
