The 2018 Victorian Seniors Festival takes place across Victoria throughout October. The Festival experience is all about getting out and about in your local community and beyond.

It is a month-long celebration offering more than 2,000 occasions for fun, pleasure and a chance to try something new or different in a friendly atmosphere.

As part of the 2018 Victorian Seniors Festival, we’re offering free tours of the market – the best part? Free tastings and samples!

On the Seniors Festival Food Discovery Tours, visitors can join get exclusive, behind-the-scenes insight into the tantalising aromas and exotic flavours on offer.

On this hour-long tour from 11am – 12pm on select days (see below), you will visit select traders for sumptuous tastings and insider secrets from experts.

All Seniors Festival Food Discovery Tour participants receive a free Dandenong Market shopping bag and delicious samples and tastings from market traders.

Each tour is limited to a total of 15 participants.

Known as the “world market”, Dandenong Market is a 152-year old traditional working market in Melbourne’s South East. A mecca for fresh produce and hard-to-find ingredients, Dandenong Market attracts over 5 million visitors a year who seek out authentic, fresh produce.

With over 200 market traders spread out over 8000 square metres, Dandenong Market offers everything from honeycomb fresh from the beehive, to flowers cut straight from the farm, to apples picked from the orchard.
