Rug up and head to Dandenong Market this winter as Winter Feast returns for a spectacular day of skating, seasonal flavours and feel‑good vibes. Taking place on Sunday 19 July from 10:00am to 3:00pm, this free event is set to transform the market into a buzzing winter playground for all ages.

For one special Sunday, the Market’s southern carpark will be reimagined as a pop‑up winter escape. Complete with a free ice‑skating rink, live DJ and plenty of delicious food to keep you warm. Whether you’re visiting from nearby or making a day trip from across Melbourne, Winter Feast is the perfect excuse to enjoy winter outdoors.

Step onto the ice rink and enjoy the thrill of skating under the winter sky. With no bookings and no cost, it’s an easy and exciting activity for families, friends and first‑time skaters alike. Soak up the atmosphere, take in the sights and create memorable winter moments together.

Warm up with a curated mix of comfort food favourites, seasonal street eats and classic winter sweets. From hearty savoury dishes like gnocchi, momos, American BBQ to indulgent crepes and hot chocolate, Winter Feast celebrates the flavours we crave most during the colder months.

A live DJ will set the soundtrack for the day, while free face painting will keep kids smiling and with 120+ market traders open throughout the event, there’s plenty to explore, shop and taste as you wander the market.

Is it real ice?
No – the rink is made from synthetic ice, which is a high-quality skating surface designed to feel similar to real ice, while being more durable and suitable for outdoor events.

How much does it cost?
It’s completely free and no bookings are required. Just line up and enjoy the rink.

How long will I have to wait?
Wait times will vary depending on how busy the event is. It’s a popular attraction, so we recommend coming earlier in the day if you want shorter queues. Please note if the queue is long, staff will need to close the queue early to ensure all skaters can finish by the event close time at 3pm.

Is there a minimum height or age requirement?
Yes, for safety reasons, skaters must be at least 100cm tall to participate.

Can I bring children / is supervision required?
Children are welcome, but must be supervised by an adult at all times. Our team is there to help manage the rink, but guardians are responsible for their children in the queue and on the skating surface.
