Seojin Bunsik

Welcome Kihyun – the proud owner of Seojin Bunsik – delivering Korean style chunky hotdogs at Dandenong Market. Kihyun is originally from Korea and has come to the Market to share the tastes of his homeland. At Seojin Bunsik you will get to experience the culinary phenomenon that has already taken over Korea, with over 2000 different stores opening in a year – the Chunky Hotdog.

The Chunky Hotdog begins with the classic Frankfurt sausage, encased in a fermented dough, made fresh daily, before it is deep fried on a stick to create the perfect texture. From here you can select a variety of flavour combinations.

Kihyun says a favourite of his and his customers is the Potato and Mozzarella Hotdog. This crowd-pleasing favourite is the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. Crispy potato lines the outside of the hotdog, while stringy mozzarella provides a deliciously fun element, all before it is sprinkled with sugar and drizzled with mustard and tomato sauce.

Other items on the menu include waffle fries, Korean donuts, ice cream and beverages.

Arriving at the Market, Kihyun is excited for people to experience the tastes of Korean street food. When asked why he chose Dandenong Market for his business his response was instant – “It is so multicultural. Everyone is here”.  

Sharing his memories of growing up in Korea, Kihyun reminisces on the experiences surrounding food. On weekends you would find parents taking their kids out for classic street foods. Children would eagerly await their orders, eyes wide with wonder at the various flavourful creations before them. Those children would then carry the memories of those experience well into their teens and adulthood – returning generation after generation.

At Seojin Bunsik the whole family is welcome. Kihyun aims to not only sell delicious food inspired by his homeland but create fond memories for all those that come visit is store.

He hopes people return to share their experiences for many years to come.
