Meet Xian Lan Chen from Sansan’s Dumpling House at Dandenong Market!
Xian immigrated to Australia from China where she lived in Shen Yang. Having moved to multicultural Melbourne, it seemed fitting she opened her own small business to share the flavours of her hometown with the local community – and we’re so grateful she did.
Sansan’s Dumping House prides itself on its traditional dumplings, golden pies and soft Chinese buns. Each recipe is handmade using an ancient family recipe that has been passed down through generations.
Xian makes all of her products alone. She begins her dumpling preparation at 4pm each day so that they are ready for the following day. Even though the hours can seem strenuous, making dumplings and sharing them with Market customers is what make’s her truly happy.
Xian says that her favourite menu item would have to be a mixed plate of dumplings all year round – although givings an honourable mention to a warm wonton soup during the winter months.
Additionally, Sansan’s Dumpling House’s loyal customers love classic tastes such as chicken and prawn dumplings and pork, Chinese cabbage and chive dumplings.
You can buy Xian’s delicious dumplings frozen too – that way no one misses out!
Sansan’s Dumpling House is open every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7am and Sundays from 9am.
