Customers love the authentic taste of Piqniq Hut’s mouth-watering morsels, however, it’s the huge demand for speciality kottu roti that makes staff smile. Kottu is made of shredded roti bread, vegetables, egg and curry of the customers choosing all mixed together. It smells as divine as it tastes!

Customers love the cuisine of Piqniq Hut not only for its delicious flavours but because they are often cooked on a hot plate at the front of the stall. This allows everyone to watch how their food is prepared and feel amongst the theatre of true street food.

Piqniq Hut uses vegetables from the Dandenong Market within the menu which ensure freshness and delicious taste.

When asked why he chose to open his popular stall, owner Nirosh said: “It was 2018. I wanted so badly to create and share authentic flavours with the community that buying a business what the most reasonable decision. Now I am able to give Melbourne the opportunity to learn, taste and experience Sri Lankan food”.

Nirosh has hired his best friend and well-known Sri Lankan Chef Palitha Jayasinghe to operate PiqNiq hut. 

Piqniq Hut is open every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7am and every Sunday from 9am.
