Any time you walk into Dandenong Market from Cleeland Street, your eyes are immediately drawn to the vibrant yellow and red Dough Works sign. Slightly elevated to ensure owners Emel and Ozzy can see the friendly faces of all of their customers, this colourful shopfront is hard to miss.
Dough Works has been in business at Dandenong Market since 2009 and has provided a taste of Turkey to an ever-growing loyal customer base since opening.
The family-run business are proud to use fresh Market vegetables in their dishes and appeal to environmental shoppers by otherwise stocking only locally sourced produce.
Ozzy always knew if he opened a shop, it would be close to home – which is why Dandenong Market became the perfect spot. Growing up in the area, Ozzy wants to share a taste of home with his community after immigrating from Turkey.
Dough Works specialises in gözleme, wraps, kebabs and Halal Snack Packs (HSPs). While waiting for a mouth-watering meal, you’ll often see Ozzy’s family members preparing fresh gözleme dough. The lovely staff roll and stuff this tasty dish with delectable fillings such as spinach and feta, lamb, chicken and mushroom.
Dough Works’ traditional Turkish kebabs are made with lamb, beef or chicken, garlic sauce and fresh salad.
Incredibly friendly, Ozzy loves working at Dandenong Markert as it allows him to socialise with his customers. He loves his craft and sharing culture with the community.
Dough Works is busy cooking from 7am every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and from 9am on Sundays.
