If you love food, dancing, colour and music then join us on Sunday 18 September as we come together for Fiestas Patrias a Latin American celebration. Dandenong Market will come alive with warm and welcoming people who know how to party, as they bring a little taste of vibrant and colourful Latin American cultures to the Market FOR ALL to see.

Whether you have ties to Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil, Honduras, Nicaragua or of course Chile, we invite you to come and celebrate with us, La Vida Loca style!

Showcasing the best of Latin American entertainment and cultural performances that encapsulate tradition and history, Fiestas Patrias is an all-day FREE family friendly event filled with music, dancing, spectacular costumes, children’s activities and of course – fabulous authentic street food.

In order to celebrate like a Latin American, you have to eat like one! Think original quesadillas and chilli con carne, to authentic homemade empanadas – and oh so delicious traditional Latin American sweets – we can’t wait to dive in!

Better yet, for one day only, get ready for the infamous mote con huesillos which will be served up right here in the Market. This syrupy traditional drink is made from mote – a peach style iced tea, with a floating peach and huesillos – husked wheat. This is a staple of Chilean cuisine, reminiscent of festivals where street vendors would serve you while you took in the views on top of either the San Cristóbal or Santa Lucía Hills. Chewy, sweet and drinkable, mote con huesillos is South America’s tasty answer to bubble tea. Say no more – we can’t wait to tango with YOU!
