Eco Workshops at Dandenong Market

Fridge Scraps to Feasts of Flavour

Transform forgotten fridge produce into a delicious pasta sauce in this 90 minute hands-on workshop.

Join us at Dandenong Market for a unique and inspiring Eco Workshop that turns everyday fridge scraps into flavour-packed feasts. In partnership with Cultivating Community, this event is designed to help you reduce food waste, save money, and cook creatively — all while enjoying a fun, hands-on experience with like-minded locals.

Whether you’re a seasoned home cook or just starting out, this workshop will teach you how to make the perfect pasta sauce using produce that often gets overlooked or tossed. Think bendy carrots, wilting herbs, and forgotten greens — all transformed into something truly delicious.

What You’ll Learn
  • How to incorporate different vegetables and flavour into a quick and easy pasta sauce
  • Seasonal swaps to keep your cooking fresh and adaptable
  • Smart storage tips to extend the life of your produce
  • Simple techniques to create quick, nutritious meals from what you already have
Meet Your Expert Cook

The workshop will be led by Felicity Hall, Cooking & Lifelong Learning Manager at Cultivating Community. Felicity grew up in rural Victoria and has a passion for sustainable farming and food. She has a background working in fine dining restaurants as well as specialising in baking and pastries. She loves creating and sharing delicious meals with family, friends and the community, all prepared with beautiful produce from around Victoria.
