About Taylors Orchards

Taylors Orchards has been trading at Dandenong Market since 2003. Taylor’s has also supplied produce from their orchard to the Market since the mid-1980s.

Taylors Orchards’ main lines are apples and pears that are grown on the family orchard in Tyabb on the Mornington Peninsula. They also sell produce from Atlanta Orchards in Moorooduc and 9 Mile Coolstore and Packhouse in Tynong.

Owner Gary has developed a loyal customer base who love to shop locally. With well over 80% of their produce coming from within a 60km radius of the market, you can be sure of freshness with a low carbon footprint.

Taylors Orchards also sell a popular line of certified, organically grown produce that they supply to the market for Tuesday and Friday trading.

Mornington Peninsula Organics provides some of the most popular lines including broccoli and cherry tomatoes.

Awards

Gary and his business play a big role in the Greater Dandenong community too. In November 2019, the City of Greater Dandenong awarded Gary and Abdul from S&G Fresh the Sustainable Industry Award for their regular work with OzHarvest.

OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue service that aims to reduce the amount of waste in the hospitality industry. The organisation collects excess food from markets and other retailers, delivering more than 180 tonnes of food to over 1300 charities across the country.

Gary is a regular supplier to OzHarvest and is happy to put in the extra effort to ensure that there are fresh apples and pears available for those who may not be able to access it.

In a six-month period, Abdul and Gary provided 11,451kgs of produce. This is the equivalent of 34,353 meals that OzHarvest has delivered to those in need.

Customers can find Taylor’s apples and pears at Taylor’s Orchards in the Fruit and Vegetable Hall at stalls R7B and T3A-B.
