Dandenong Market is very excited to announce that non-food stalls will reopen this Tuesday (2 June 2020) after the Victorian Government eased COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
This includes all small businesses in the Bazaar, as well as plant and flower sellers, key cutters, tools and garden suppliers, and the popular auction which takes place every Tuesday and Friday.
We appreciate that many customers have been eager for these traders to resume trading and we thank them for continuing to support small businesses during these uncertain times.
It has been a challenging few months for many of these small businesses and we will work closely with them as they transition back to the Market.
As with everything, these changes come with strict rules around distancing, density and hygiene.
Dandenong Market will continue to monitor social distancing with measures including monitoring foot traffic every hour, reminding customers with regular overhead and visual announcements and security and operations teams to help manage hot spots.
The most recent easing of restrictions (Sunday 24 May) does not include the return of seating in The Northern Food Court or Market Square. Our ready-to-eat traders will also continue to operate as take-away only.
We sincerely thank our community for their continued support of our fresh produce traders who have served everyone under extraordinary circumstances as well as those small businesses who are re-joining us next week.
