Dandenong Market’s Waitangi Day is an annual celebration of New Zealand and Pacific culture. The event will be held at Dandenong Market on Sunday 9 February 2020 and will run from 10am to 4pm. Dandenong Market’s Waitangi Day is now in its fifth year, growing in size and popularity every year. We expect more than 35,000 visitors will celebrate with us this year.
Dandenong Market’s Waitangi Day is a free community event, suitable for all ages. Free parking available.

10am: Pōwhiri: Māori welcoming ceremony
10.15am: Ngā Uri Whaioranga – haka performance
10:45am: Cook Island performance
11:40am: Soul Purpose – band performance
12:35pm: Te Ara Hononga – Mau Rakau
1:05pm: Ngā Uri Whaioranga – haka performance
1:45pm: Lavina Williams – Australian Idol
2:35pm: Ngā Uri Whaioranga – haka performance
3:15pm: Soul Purpose – band performance
Craving all your favourite Kiwi foods? You’ll find them at our family-friendly Waitangi Day Festival.
Arrive hungry and delight in Kiwi delicacies from NZ Street Food. Best known for their hugely popular hāngi, a traditional dish made with chicken, lamb, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, cabbage, stuffing and fried bread.
You’ll also be tempted with pies and long cream donuts from Kiwi Steak and Cheese Pies, Polynesian soul food from Pacific Eats, BBQ essentials from The Smoke Pit, snow cones and fairy floss from Sweet Factory.
