A day of ghoulish and ghastly fun

Dandenong Market is celebrating Halloween with a day of ghoulish and ghastly fun on Sunday 28 October.

Visitors can take part in a trick or treat treasure hunt, three different workshops including craft, wand-making and the mad Scientist’s laboratory! There will also be kids’ face painting and scary hair makeovers and Special effects make up for adults. Our talented balloon artists will also be creating balloon art for kids.

Plus indulge in a spooktacular Halloween feast of frightening and fantastic limited edition dishes sold by our market traders.

Trick or treat treasure hunt for kids

Find the Trick or Treat treasure hunt table in Market Square (in front of the animal statue) and receive a bag and treat map. You will then need to seek out the participating traders, who will provide you with a treat! Limited to the first 200 children.

Spooky Craft Workshop

Join our horrifying Halloween craft workshop to create wearable craft including masks and headbands as well as puppets, mobiles and treat cups (11am – 3pm).

Wand Making Workshop

Professional artist from Nook by Inglenook Emporium in your magical wand workshop. Design and paint your very own School of Witchcraft and Wizardry inspired wand. And who knows, you might even learn to transform muggles into toads (11am – 3pm)

Mad Scientist’s Laboratory

Volcanic eruptions and slimey goop is not all you will experience when you enter our Lab. Learn a combination of science and magic and take home your very own ewey-gooey slime pet. Please note: Pet is not alive… as far as we know… (11am – 3pm)

Kids face painting

Free monstrous and mortifying kids face painting (10:30am – 3pm).

Adults special effects makeup

Become the unruly undead with this free frightening and ferocious makeover (10:30am – 3pm).

Scary Hair makeovers

Horrifying hair makeovers to make you look frightfully fantastic (10:30am – 3pm).

Kids balloon art

Free ghastly and ghoulish balloons by terrifically talented balloon artists (10:30am – 3pm).

Bertha Witch

Meet Bertha Witch. B for short. So you can call her B Witch. She loves to cast spells that turn little kiddies into toads and make potions from little fingers and toes. See if you spot her flying around the market, but watch out or you might end up croaking all day long!”

The Vampire Batty Betty

Meet Batty Betty. This Vampire is straight from Transylvania and a little bit zaney-a! She loves to read scary stories, especially ones she can really sink her teeth into. She will be hanging around, so make sure you come say hello!”

Chef Monstro

Meet puppet Chef Monstro, who cooks delicious meals for hungry monsters using whatever objects he can find. The Chef is always looking for his next tasty ingredient, so be careful around him…or you could end up being the next meal!

 

 

Rory the dinosaur

Meet Rory the young puppet dinosaur. He’s just discovering all that our wonderful world has to offer. He’d love to meet you, and maybe you can even teach him how to roar!
