Known for authentic and delicious Mauritian food, Mauritian-born Andy McKay has been a part of the Dandenong Market family for over 30 years.
Andy learned all that he knows from his father who also had his own restaurant in Mauritius, this is where Andy’s love of cooking started and where he learnt many of the skills and family recipes he uses today at Dandenong Market’s Mauritian Hut. His food is based on traditional Mauritian fare and uses generational family recipes to produce his delicious dishes.
Visit Andy and sample his mouth-watering traditional Mauritian fare including puri, curries, samosa and the popular vadai (chilli cakes) from his food van in the Northern Food Court. What makes Andy's food stand out is his special blend of spices including turmeric, coriander seeds, onion, garlic, cinnamon and cloves.
