Dandenong Market is celebrating Māori new year Matariki with an event on Sunday 17 June featuring performances, activities and New Zealand street food.
Matariki is the Māori name for the Pleiades cluster of stars which rise in early June, heralding the start of a new year. Matariki is a time to connect with, and give thanks to the land, sea and sky. It is also a time for the community to come together and celebrate.

- Live acoustic sessions with Soul Purpose
- Free moko face painting
- Plus: delicious food from NZ Street Food who will have location in Market Square and the Meat, Fish and Deli Hall

Parking: Parking is free for the event.
Getting here: Dandenong Market is located in the south east of Melbourne and can be accessed via the Monash Freeway (Stud Road exit) or Eastlink (Dandenong exit). Dandenong Market is also a 15 minute walk from the Dandenong train station.
