Father’s Day workshops

Sunday 3 September

Become a warrior this Father's Day at Dandenong Market on Sunday 3 September.

Visitors can join free warrior workshops run by Te Ara Hononga and learn the traditional art of mau rākau, a martial art based on traditional Māori weapons with one-on-one training. Te Ara Hononga members will teach market visitors fighting poses and how to hold and move the traditional fighting stick. Once learned, visitors can choose to demonstrate the skills they have learned on stage, or even spar with a Te Ara Hononga trainer.

Visitors can also get free ta moko artwork painted onto their face or body.
