Fresh baked bread

Nothing better than home made fresh bread.

Serves 4-6

Shopping List

1100grams bakers flour
80grams salt
48 grams fresh yeast
550ml warm water
3 tablespoon sugar
50grams room temperature butter or oil

  • Step 1

    In a bowl mix the fresh yeas with the sugar and warm water. Let stand until the yeast starts to bubble the water.

  • Step 2

    Add this mix to the flour and salt in a large bowl, together with the butter or oil and mix together until incorporated, then knead for a further 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  • Step 3

    Put into a greased bowl and cover with a warm wet cloth, and sit somewhere warm to prove and double in size.

  • Step 4

    Once doubled, knock the air out of it then shape into desired size, then prove again to let it double in size.

  • Step 5

    Bake at 200C until golden brown, remove from oven once cooked , brush with a little oil, then let stand for 5-10 minutes to let cool.

    Slice with a serrated edged knife and serve with your favourite condiments. Enjoy while fresh
