Easter Biscuits

Kids will love making and eating these yummy biscuits for the family.

Serves 4-6

Shopping List

125grams softened butter
½ cup caster sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 ½ cups plain flour
2 tablespoons milk


1 cup icing mixture
1 teaspoon butter
4-5 teaspoons boiling water
Food colouring of choice

  • Step 1

    In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla until pale and creamy.

  • Step 2

    Fold the flour in with a wooden spoon, then add the milk and mix until incorporated. Wrap in glad wrap and let rest in fridge for 1 hour.

  • Step 3

    Pull out of fridge for 15 minutes, then roll out on a floured bench to 3mm thick, then cut out into desired shapes and bake at 175C for approximately 8-10 minutes or until they have just turned slightly golden brown. Let cool.

  • Step 4

    In another bowl, mix the icing mixture with the boiling water and butter until smooth. Colour with food colouring if desired.

  • Step 5

    Decorate the biscuits with icing, sprinkles and other writing.

  • Step 6

    Let set, then eat at Easter. You can also add other spices etc to make them as elaborate as you like.
